Shaw Home notifies you of network changes or device activity on your home network. Follow the steps below to view and manage your BlueCurve Home notifications.

How to access Notification Centre

To access the Notification Centre in Shaw Home:

  1. Open Shaw Home (mobile app or web portal).
  2. Select Notification Center (speech bubble icon).
    • In the Shaw Home mobile app, this is located at the top-left corner of the screen.
    • In the Shaw Home web portal, this is located at the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Your notification history is shown with the newest at the top.

Notification types

There are two types of Shaw Home notifications: Network Access and Network Activity.

Network Access: Alerts you of changes made that may impact access to your home network, including:

  • WiFi name/password changes
  • WiFi name changes from Broadcast to Hidden
  • WiFi name changes from Hidden to Broadcast
  • WiFi network security changes from Closed to Open
  • Network IP address changes
  • Modem Factory Resets

Network Activity: Alerts you when a device joins your network for the first time, or when a profile is nearing the end of an active time limit.

How to turn notification on or off

When enabled, Shaw Home notifications are sent to your mobile device. If you'd rather not receive these, you can turn off Push Notifications from the Shaw Home mobile app.

  1. Open the Notification Centre from the Shaw Home mobile app.
  2. Tap Settings (gear icon) at the top-right.
  3. Tap Push Notifications.
  4. Tap the checkbox for Network Access and/or Network Activity to enable or disable them.

If you choose to disable Push Notifications, your notification history can still be viewed in the Notification Centre.
