At the top of my BlueCurve page at http://10.0.0.1, it has a battery icon and says 0%. This is a brand new modem. Should I be worried about this? or just ignore? I could have sworn it said 100% when I first plugged it in the first time.
My guess is that this is for some backup voice service in case the power goes out?
Thanks
@kerv The BlueCurve gateway is not currently deployed with a battery included, so it will show 0% for the battery life and isn't anything to worry about.
If you are looking to power the modem during an outage, you would be better off getting a UPS.

Agreed.
To maximize the number of minutes that the UPS can provide power, be very "choosy" about which devices connect to the "battery-backup" sockets on the UPS, e.g., modem, computer, TV/monitor screen.
Connect your "other" devices, such as a printer, and mobile-phone charger, to the "pass-through" sockets on the UPS.
For me, a UPS provides backup-power just long-enough to "save" my work, and do a normal shutdown of Windows.
