We just purchased the Lenovo Smart Clock (Google Home product) and we can't get it to connect to the 2.4Ghz network, but it will connect to the 5Ghz network. Unfortunately that's not an option as our bedroom is on a different floor than the router and it keeps losing connection constantly. Things we've tried so far:
- pin hole reset the router
- factory reset clock many many times
- tried setting it up with many different Android devices
- Google Home app is updated
- turned off the 5Ghz band in the router settings
Any ideas as this device will need to be returned if we can't get it connected. Thanks 🙂

@b1791 do you have other devices that are able to connect to the 2.4G network? It may just be faulty if it's the only device that isn't able to connect (swap recommended).

How many other devices have a "wired" (Ethernet) connection to the router? How many WiFi-only devices?
Either move the bedroom closer to the router, or move the router closer to the bedroom.
Can you use a longer coaxial-cable between the wall-port and the Shaw router, and also use a longer Ethernet cable between the router and your "wired" device(s)?
We have no wired devices and only a few wireless devices. We've tried setting up the clock just a few feet from the router and it still won't connect to the 2.4 so it's not an issue of distance.

Yes, all other wireless devices in the house connect to the 2.4 fine, so we've returned the clock as I believe it was faulty.
The clock of Lenovo Smart isnt sync with your cellphone thru BT or Thru Wifi (idk why)
Troubleshooting:
1) Run normal setup with Alexa app
2) Try to find the Lenovo in your wifi and save IP
3) Download Putty
4) open putty and put Lenovo IP with port 22
5) User:root pass:123456 https://securityonline.info/cve-2023-0896-lenovo-smart-clock-essentials-ssh-hard-coded-password-vuln...
6) inside, run this command "ntpdate pool.ntp.org" (remove ")
7) Try to run the setup in Alexa again
😎 DONE!! Lenovo Smart working again!
