I just upgraded my plan to 1 gig from Internet 600 but I do not feel much difference

@Balvin -- if you only have one computer in your household, you need to connect to Internet sites that "push" out data at ultra-high speeds, e.g., 600 or 1000 Megabits per second.  Probably, those sites are very rare, other than in the academic world (think downloading of Terabits of data from some university's High Energy Physics department).

Other volunteer contributors to this forum have reported "smoother" Internet, when they have multiple devices in their home, simultaneously accessing the Internet, after they upgraded their overall speed.

Note that the monthly rate for the Shaw Mobile service is lower if you upgrade your Shaw Cable speed:

Shaw Gig 1.5 --> $0/month 
Shaw Gig 1.0 --> $5/month
Shaw (slower) -> $10/month
Shaw (none) ---> $15/month

Taxes are extra.

$45 one-time connection-fee. 

Still, $15/month for an "emergency" mobile-phone for your grandparent is a good deal.
