Message appears when I access my emails in Win 10 Thunderbird

rchilliak
Grasshopper

I have 4 email addresses with Shaw. This is what appears when I click on email icon : Mail server password required. Enter your password for rchilliak on imap.shaw.ca. I have tried every PW I can think of to no avail.

I have no problem with ipad or MacBook to access my email program.

Hey rchilliak,

Normally, we would recommend reaching out to Thunderbird for assistance. I searched their forum and saw some success with the steps:

1. Open Thunderbird.
2. Go to Tools > Account Settings > Outgoing Server (SMTP)
3. Under the "Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings" choose your SMTP server (imap.shaw.ca) and click Edit
4. Under the "Security and Authentication" section delete anything in the "User Name" field (make it blank)
5. Untick the "Use name and password" option.
6. Click OK.

That should get it working again.

Cheers,
