New BlueCurve Gateway and the 2.4 Ghz band.

I have the new Blue Curve Gateway modem. It indicates that it is "dual band". Most smart plugs only work with the 2.4 Ghz band. I cannot get my smart devices to "see" the 2.4 band. How do I do this?

You will need to disable band steering on the BlueCurve modem, so you have separate SSIDs for both the 2.4 and 5 ghz networks  Instructions can be found here:

Had the same issue.  Split the wifi into two bands one 2.4ghz and one 5.0 ghz.  Rename the 2.4 ghz with the same name you had for the combined account and leave the other one as xxx 5.0.  Program all your 2.4ghz devices with the new split wifi.  Once completed, recombine the two signals.  Worked beautifully!

It seems that we did that but when the power failed We had to go through the whole process again... painful with 11 smart bulbs sockets etc, not to mention all the iOS devices! ... also I think one issue is that the smart phones get auto routed through 5 G after their merge - but to set up and interact with smart devices I think the phone needs to be on 2.4.... I’m going to give your solution one more shot but am wondering why merge them back together?   If they stay as two it seems to get around the auto steering more fully.
