@arjay -- Has Shaw stopped maintaining the network because of the Rogers buyout?
Yes, if you believe that "The Rapture" is coming soon. Otherwise, no.
P.S. If you ask a silly question, you deserve a silly answer.
Just an FYI, for the last few days that access point has been acting up again. It can be connected to but basically passes almost no data. Traceroute and name resolution works but other than that it appears to do nothing. Webpages don't load. In short, while it can be connected to, it doesn't really do anything.
@arjay -- Has Shaw stopped maintaining the network because of the Rogers buyout?
That is a very doubtful conjecture.
Note that given the recent Rogers "outage", the federal government is getting less likely to approve the merger. It's bad-enough that Rogers went "down" -- to have "Rogers/Shaw" go down would paralyze the Canadian economy.
Expect that there will be NO definitive information until the upcoming hearings in November 2022 in Ottawa.
