As of January 4, 2022, BlackBerry will be decommissioning their legacy services. Devices running these legacy services and software through any carrier or Wi-Fi connections will no longer reliably function, including for data, phone calls, SMS and 9-1-1 functionality.

Affected BlackBerry Legacy Devices and Software

BlackBerry will be decommissioning their legacy services. The affected devices include those running on BlackBerry 7.1 OS and earlier software, BlackBerry 10 software, and BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 and earlier software. These devices will no longer be expected to reliably function on any carrier network, including on the Shaw Mobile network or Wi-Fi connections.

Upgrade your Device

If you are still using a BlackBerry device on BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, or BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 and earlier software, you will need to switch to a different device before January 4, 2022.
