VoLTE Roaming allows you to continue experiencing all the VoLTE features like improved call quality, faster call setup times and using LTE voice and data at the same time, all while roaming on another network.
Wireless providers in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands) will be shutting down their 3G networks on July 1st, 2022 For more information see, About: 3G Network Shutdown in the USA
Device and Network Capability
If your device supports VoLTE Roaming, you can enjoy all the benefits of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) like improved call quality, quicker call setup times, and the ability to use LTE during a call, while you’re travelling and roaming on another network.
VoLTE Roaming is enabled on our Nationwide network, as well as the U.S., with limited availability. We’re working with our roaming partners to bring VoLTE Roaming to as many destinations as we can. Check back for updates!
Note: Some phones support VoLTE but not VoLTE Roaming. Use our Device Compatibility Tool to confirm your phone is compatible with VoLTE Roaming. The Device Compatibility Tool will be updated regularly as additional phones begin to support VoLTE Roaming.

VoLTE Roaming Charges
Just like a VoLTE call on our network is treated like a regular call, a VoLTE call while roaming is treated like a regular roaming call. Any voice usage while roaming will count towards your plan’s roaming voice allotment or you will be charged on a Pay-Per-Use (PPU) basis, if it is not included in your plan or add-on.
Login to My Shaw Mobile to enable US Roaming and Nationwide Network. The features included in your plan will also be available in My Shaw Mobile.
VoLTE Roaming and WiFi Calling
With VoLTE Roaming, a call that begins on WiFi will drop if the WiFi connection is lost and you will be required to begin a new call on VoLTE Roaming. This allows you to be aware of your spending when making VoLTE Roaming calls, as the calls will either count towards your plan’s roaming voice allotment or be charged on a Pay-Per-Use (PPU) basis.
A call that begins on VoLTE Roaming but connects to WiFi during the call, will result in incurring roaming rates for the entire duration of the call.
