All Shaw Mobile rate plans include access to over 450,000 Shaw Go WiFi hotspots across Western Canada. Your Shaw Mobile device is designed to automatically connect and authenticate when you have WiFi turned on and are in-range of the ShawPasspoint or ShawMobileHotspot network names.

Connecting to Shaw Go WiFi

Shaw Mobile devices automatically connect to Shaw Go WiFi hotspots broadcasting the ShawPasspoint and ShawMobileHotspot network names (SSID) - no sign-in or credentials required. In order to access Shaw Go WiFi from your Shaw Mobile device, you must have purchased your device directly from us, or have active service on a compatible device with a Shaw Mobile SIM card installed (eSIM or physical).

If you bring your own device (BYOD), your device may not automatically connect to Shaw Go WiFi hotspots. As a result, you may need to manually connect to a hotspot upon first-use, with subsequent connections automatically occurring after initial setup.

No, Shaw Go WiFi use is not counted towards your mobile rate plan data limits. If you’re in a Shaw Go WiFi area, make sure your WiFi is turned on to save on mobile data.

How many phones and devices can I connect to Shaw Go WiFi?

Every active Shaw Mobile device on your account includes no-charge access to the Shaw Go WiFi network, including devices not purchased directly from Shaw.

Why is my Shaw Go WiFi internet speed slow?

Your distance from the nearest hotspot and how many people are connected to the same hotspot at the same time may affect your connection speed.

Can I use Shaw Go WiFi on my tablet?

As long as your compatible tablet has active Shaw Mobile service, it will have access to Shaw Go WiFi hotspots.

I am also a Shaw Internet customer, does my Shaw Mobile device count towards my Shaw Go WiFi device limit?

No, you do not have to register your Shaw Mobile device within the limits included with your Internet plan. For an optimal experience we would suggest not registering your Shaw Mobile device using the sign-up process required for Shaw Internet customers. Instead, Shaw Mobile devices should connect using our easy auto-connection capabilities for the ShawPasspoint and ShawMobileHotspot networks.
