When placing an international long distance call (within Canada or roaming), long distances rates may apply. This will depend on your current plan, Add-Ons, and the location you are calling.

To place an international call while in Canada you must first dial the plus symbol (+), followed by the country code of the country you're calling to, then the area code and the Phone number:
(+) → Country Code → Area Code → Phone Number
Tip: To dial +, hold 0 on your device's dial pad.
To dial a local number in the destination you’re visiting, you must dial the plus symbol (+), followed by the country code and area code to ensure the call is rated correctly.
To place a call to Canada while roaming in the U.S. dial 1, followed by the 3-digit area code and the 7-digit phone number.
(1) → Area Code → Phone Number
To place a call to Canada while overseas dial the plus symbol (+) followed by (1), the 3-digit area code and the 7-digit phone number.
(+) → (1) → Area Code → Phone Number
