Group Messaging is the ability to send text, picture and video messages between multiple recipients of a group conversation using multimedia messaging (MMS).
In order to have a successful group conversation, it requires all recipients of the message to be with a carrier and device that supports Group Messaging.
RCS for Android and iMessage for Apple devices can also offer alternative, enhanced group messaging experiences.
Enable group messaging on your device
Compatibility for group messaging depends on the manufacturer and device model, messaging application being used, and carrier support for the members in the group conversation. Most modern smartphones will support Group Messaging. Please follow the steps below to ensure you have the setting turned on:
Ensure ‘Group messaging’ is set to “Send an MMS reply to all recipients (group MMS)”
Update network settings
To ensure that group messaging works properly, you may have to update your network settings. This can be done automatically by sending a text to a short code which will send settings to your phone to help configure internet and network access.
