Disable microphone sound from XR15 remote?

Is there any way to disable the sound that the XR15 remote plays when you press it to make a voice command?  Would like to just be able to press it, see on the screen that it's listening, and then speak without the remote's on-board microphone playing that sound?

@abdba -- just a guess: does that remote have its own volume-control? Can you use that control, if its exists, to "minimize" or "mute" it?
