Last night I was using the app (iPad) and suddenly everything disappeared and it’s showing the date is dec 31. If I try to change the date to today, nothing happens. If I try to scroll the date to the current date, nothing happens. It’s showing all the channels, but not any programs, just a blank space. What has happened and how do I fix this?

Try removing and reinstalling that app too.
It could have been a scheduled outage of Shaw's servers -- no data returned to your device.
Or, it could be a problem with your iPad. Power-off your iPad, and then power-on your iPad, and check that it has the correct date/time, and that its battery has a significant level of charge.
