That is not a lot of information to work with.

What model of Shaw cable-modem/router do you have?

Have you tried powering-off, then powering-on that device?

Have you been using Shaw Internet for a while, before it has "failed", or is this a "new subscriber" type of problem?

Are you using an Ethernet cable between the Shaw device and your computer?

Have you tried unplugging and replugging that cable, at both ends?

Have you tried a different cable?

On your computer, have you "disabled" your computer's network adapter?

If you have (or can borrow) a different computer, and connect it via Ethernet cable to your Shaw device, can that computer obtain an IP-address?

What time of day/night?  Shaw routinely does "overnight" network maintenance, that results in outages (some short, some up to 6 hours) for all its customers in a geographic area.

If your computer has WiFi, take it to someplace that offers the ShawOpen wireless network, or a private, e.g., Starbucks, wireless network, and see if you can get an IP-address.

Are you using any "Internet Security" package (anti-virus and anti-phishing and web-browser protection and firewall) ? Their "firewall" may be blocking the responses to your IP-requests.
