After the power-up that follows your powered-down, how long are you waiting before you declare that "nothing changes" ? Seconds? Minutes? Hours?
After an electrical power interruption, either a "power-spike", or deliberate unplugging of the power-cord to the PVR, or an extended power-outage, all the information in the Guide is lost, and must be downloaded, to "repopulate" it. This can take a few hours, given the large number of channels, and the two weeks of "future" information that need to be fetched. During that reloading, check the lowest-numbered channels -- they seem to be the first to be updated, first for the next few hours, and later for the next few days.
