Regarding Shaw non-PVR HD cable boxes

I was chatting with an agent about switching to one & was told that they are no longer being made & are now obsolete (I'm talking about the non-PVR HD cable boxes that were renting for $5 per month), can anyone confirm this as I seem to get different answers from different agents.

They are likely not available from Shaw anymore, but you may be able to find a used on privately on Marketplace, Kijiji, or whatever online classifieds. If you do buy a used one, get the serial number before buying and contact Shaw to make sure it isn’t stolen and is ok to go on your account.
