When we installed our Shaw wireless boxes the serviceman hooked up two of the old cable boxes as well and they all worked at that time. Now the two cable boxes (Motorola DCX 3400-M) do not work. When questioned the Shaw representative says the two systems cannot work together. Am I going crazy? They did work together at one time. Why not now? Any answers?

@john145 Legacy cable boxes can’t be on the account with the BkueCurve system. It is likely that the old boxes were eventually de-provisioned and stopped working.

Did the old boxes work simultaneously with the new boxes? If so, that proves that it is not a "technical" problem carrying the two different signalling-systems over the same coaxial cable.
So, @rstra is on the correct track -- eventually, Shaw deleted your old boxes from your account -- the jargon is they "deprovisioned" them. Shaw wants you to pay for two separate accounts. Most commonly, one account for the "main" floor in your house, and one account for the "in-law" suite. All the signals from the nearest telephone-pole are carried over the one coaxial cable to Shaw's "demarcation" box, where one coaxial cable runs to the "main" and one coaxial cable runs to the "suite". Money-grab ?
Yes the old cable boxes worked simultaneously with the new wireless boxes when the new boxes were first installed earlier this year. Now the cable boxes have stopped working and Shaw says they can't work together. I don't believe them.
The boxes can work together in the home, but they would require a second account.
