Before you begin
For a smooth activation, please make sure you've confirmed the following before you begin:
- You've created a Shaw ID.
- You've downloaded and installed the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app (Apple App Store | Google Play Store).
- Your Ignite Self Protect device has a good WiFi connection at the desired location.
- Go to Optimize your WiFi Experience for best practices on WiFi device placement.

How to activate a security camera
For a screen-by-screen walkthrough of what you'll see in the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app, check out: Setting up your Ignite Camera for the first time (iOS, Android).
You will need to activate your Ignite Indoor/Outdoor Camera in the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app before you can control or view it.
- Open the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app (Apple App Store | Google Play Store) on your mobile device.
- Sign in with your Shaw ID and password if you're not already signed in.
- Select the Home tab along the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the + Add devices button.
- This will appear as Explore Smart Devices if you do not have any currently active smart home devices.
- Select Ignite Camera.
- Select the Get Started button when prompted and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the activation.
How to activate a doorbell camera

The activation process for a doorbell is a little bit different from a camera. Once you've confirmed you have the correct tools and supplies, you'll be asked a series of qualifying questions.
- Open the Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app (Apple App Store | Google Play Store) on your mobile device.
- Sign in with your Shaw ID and password if you're not already signed in.
- Select the Home tab along the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the + Add devices button.
- This will appear as Explore Smart Devices if you do not have any currently active Smart Home devices.
- Select Ignite Doorbell.
- Tap the Get Started button when prompted.
- Confirm that the Getting Started kit includes all parts and press Continue.
- The app will list the parts and show an image.
- Confirm that you have access to the recommended tools to complete the installation and press Continue.
- Answer the on-screen questions.
- Follow the installation instructions in the app.
- Once installed, follow the activation prompts in the app.
