How to set Camera Area in the Ignite HomeConnect app

You can configure the Camera Area on your Ignite Indoor/Outdoor Camera (Wired)TM or Ignite Doorbell Camera (Wired)TM to restrict motion events to a defined field of view and cut down on unnecessary notifications.

Setting the Camera Area

The camera area can be set for each individual camera in the settings menu. This is helpful if your camera has a busy road or sidewalk in view that you don't want notifications from.

  1. Open the  Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) app (Apple App Store | Google Play Store) on your mobile device.
    • Sign in with your Shaw ID and password if you're not already signed in.
  2. Select the Home tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the image for the camera feed you would like to configure Camera Area for.
  4. Select the Settings (gear icon) option in the upper right corner.
  5. Under the Preferences section, select the Camera Area option.
  6. Toggle the switch On to enable Camera Area.
  7. Draw the area you would like to detect motion from by dragging the corners of the highlighted area.
    • Press Save if you are satisfied with your area, or Reset to re-position the area.
