Learn how to manage audio language, audio mode and menu and guide language using the on-screen guide of Ignite TV (formerly known as BlueCurve TV). Language settings including closed captioning, secondary audio programming and menu language can all be set through the language settings in Ignite TV. The quickest way to access Language Settings is pressing the microphone button on your Ignite TV Remote and saying "Settings" and then using the arrow keys to select "Language".
Setting the Audio Language
This Language Setting allows you to change the Secondary Audio Programming (SAP) audio language to your preferred language (if available).
- Press the Shaw button on your remote control.
- Use the arrow keys to highlight Settings (the gear icon) and press OK on the remote.
- Use the down arrow to highlight Language and press OK.
- Use the down arrow on your remote to highlight Secondary Audio Programming (SAP). Press OK to turn SAP on or off.
- Use the down arrow on your remote to choose your SAP language. Highlight the SAP Language and press OK.
- Select your language from the list and press OK.
Your language options include:- English
- Spanish
- Video Description
- French
- Canadian French
- German
- Italian
- Portuguese
- Press Exit on your remote to return to programming.
Note: Not all programs have a secondary audio soundtrack available for all languages. Channels will sometimes choose to place a video description audio track on a specific language (i.e. Spanish) track.
Setting the Menu Language
This Language Setting option allows you to change the menus and guide navigation language. At this time the only options are currently English (US) and English (Canada).
- Use steps 1-3 from above to access the Language Settings.
- Using the down arrow on your remote, highlight Menu Language and press OK.
- Use the down arrow button on your remote, highlight English (US) or English (Canada) and press OK.
- To confirm changing your menus and guide language from one language to another, highlight OK on the screen and press OK on your remote control.
Language settings will now be updated for:
- Main menu
- Programming information in the guide
- Record options
- Settings menu
- Search

Setting the Audio Mode
This feature allows you to choose between stereo and surround sound audio. Audio options are accessed through Device Settings.
- Press the Shaw button on your remote control.
- Use the right or left arrow buttons to highlight Settings (the gear icon) and press OK on your remote.
- Use the arrow buttons to highlight Device Settings and press OK on your remote.
- Use the down arrow on your remote to highlight Audio. Press OK.
- Use the down arrow to choose HDMI Audio Output. Press OK.
- Use the down arrow on your remote to select Stereo, Auto Detect or Expert Mode and press OK.
