Whether you are looking to swap or upgrade your Shaw equipment or simply need to return some equipment to us, we can help. We need to authorize any equipment returns or swaps, so make sure to contact us if you haven't already.

As we continue to navigate the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we've had to make some adjustments to the way we run our business to prioritize the health and safety of our employees and customers. As we slowly reopen select retail locations, we ask that you do not attempt to return equipment to any Shaw office or building in person and follow these simple guidelines below.

Some equipment can be recycled instead of returned. Check to see if your equipment can be returned below. If your equipment isn't listed here, see our partner EPRA for local recycling guidelines.

Internet Equipment that can be returned

To find out if you need to recycle or return your modem - check the list of equipment below. You'll need to return any of these if you're swapping or returning equipment. If you have a unique multi-step set-up from Shaw, your Shaw agent will let you know to return it when you contact us.

TV Equipment that can be returned

The following TV equipment can be returned to Shaw. The TV equipment specified below will need to be returned to Shaw via Canada Post with a shipping label. (See the section on If you need a return label for additional details).

If you need a return label

If your return shipping label was missing, or we've asked you to send back your equipment, follow the steps below to create a shipping label in order to return your Shaw equipment. For all other equipment inquiries contact us.

  1. We need to authorize any equipment returns so make sure you contact us to let us know it's coming back before you generate a label.
  2. Click your location from the above region list.
  3. Enter the Canada Post Return ID number.

  4. Fill in your information including your Shaw Account number.

  5. Select Exception and Delivery email notifications to be notified of any unforeseen delivery interruptions.
  6. Click Continue, verify your information and then click Get Label.
  7. Use any available box to pack up your equipment, remote, and power cable.
  8. You have a few options for handing off your return to Canada Post
    • Click the link in the email to print the shipping label, tape it to the front of the package, and drop it at any Canada Post outlet or mailbox.
    • If you don't have a printer, show the QR code at any Canada Post outlet and give them the package to return.

Hang on to the tracking number until your return shipment has been delivered to Shaw, by Canada Post.

If you already have a return label

If you are a BC resident and have received a Self Connect kit from Shaw, a return shipping label should be included in that box.

  1. Use any available box to pack up your equipment, remote, and power cable.
  2. Attach the included return label to the front of the box.
  3. Drop it off at any Canada Post outlet or mailbox.

Hang on to the tracking number until your return shipment has been delivered to Shaw, by Canada Post.

If you are not a BC resident and have received a Self Connect kit from Shaw, a return shipping label may also have been included in that box. Please disregard that label as a new label will be required. See If you need a return label above to create the new shipping label.

What to do if you're moving

If you are moving, please bring all of your equipment with you to your new location.  All the info you need about moving with Shaw can be found here.

Recycling Equipment

Shaw is unable to process some legacy equipment/hardware returns. As such this equipment should not be returned to Shaw. In these cases, you should recycle this equipment/hardware.  Visit our partner EPRA for local recycling guidelines.

How do I know if my Shaw hardware/equipment should be returned or recycled?

  • If your Internet or TV hardware is found on the lists above, you will need to return it to Shaw. 
  • If your hardware is older and isn't on this list, you will need to recycle it.
