To change the password for the wireless network on your Shaw wireless modem, you will need to log into the admin console which will allow you to configure various settings related to your wireless network. Before proceeding, ensure that you have an ethernet cable connecting your modem and computer/laptop.

SMC Wireless Modem

In order to change your WiFi password on your SMC Modem, you will first need to access the router setting of the modem. Follow these instructions to change your WiFi settings:


  1. Navigate to the SMC Admin Console by typing in your internet browser (at the top of your page).
  2. Log In with the following information:
    • Username: cusadmin
    • Password: You can find the password printed on the white sticker on the side or top your Shaw wireless modem (SMC), referred to as the Pre-shared Key or Password

  3. Select Wireless
  4. Choose Encryption

  5. Enter the desired password into the Pre-Shared Key field. The Pre-Shared Key must be between 8 to 63 characters in length and is case-sensitive (assuming that WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK is in use for the security mode).  (Click image for an expanded view)
