BlueCurve Home just got smarter with the new Home feature. Home lets you add and control Smart Lights, Plugs, Switches, Door Locks and Thermostats in the BlueCurve Home app—the same convenient place where you control your home WiFi network. All you need is the BlueCurve Home app and a compatible smart device.

Note: Smart home devices can be controlled by anyone with access to the Home app, regardless of being signed in with a primary or secondary Shaw ID.

What you'll need

To control your smart devices with BlueCurve Home, you'll need the following:

Compatible devices

Select smart devices from these brands are compatible with BlueCurve Home:

Note: The device will need to be installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions and connected to your Shaw home network. For details and technical specifications, visit the manufacturer's website by clicking the link above.

How to add a device

Follow these steps to add a compatible smart device to BlueCurve Home.

Note: Before you begin, ensure your smart device has been set up in the manufacturer's app. For more information on device support, see Compatible devices above.

  1. Open the BlueCurve Home mobile app.
  2. Select the Home tab, then select the plus sign (+) Add devices
  3. Select the device you want to add.
  4. Select Link Now.
  5. You will be brought to the product login page for your device. Select Authorize to allow the device in BlueCurve Home.
  6. A confirmation message is shown. Select Finish.

How to remove a device

Follow these steps to remove (unlink) a smart device from BlueCurve Home.

  1. Open the BlueCurve Home mobile app.
  2. Select the Home tab at the bottom.
  3. Select the plus sign (+) at the top right corner, then select the device you want to unlink.
  4. Select the Unlink all button at the bottom.

Note: Unlinking a device will remove your ability to control it from the BlueCurve Home app. The device will still show up in the Connect section of BlueCurve Home, as long as it's connected to your home network.

Smart home controls

Go to the Home tab in BlueCurve Home for your smart home control view. Here you'll see all of your smart home products linked in one spot.

  • HVAC mode

  • Presence mode (Home/Away/Sleep)
  • Manufacturer's app may have additional features

Light controls

  • Power on/off
  • Brightness
  • Color: White temperature and colors
  • Manufacturer's app may have additional features

Door locks

  • Lock and unlock doors
  • Check the lock status of a door
  • Receive notifications for locked/unlocked/left unlocked
  • Set automated lock schedules (Unlock schedules are not included at this time)
  • Manufacturer's app may have additional features
