Before you get started...
If you’re creating a new Shaw email address while you're at home and connected to Shaw Internet, you'll be prompted to provide your phone number as a security measure.
If you're away from home, you'll be asked to provide:
- your Shaw Account Number
- the phone number on your Shaw account
- your postal code
We recommend having all of those things handy before you continue.
Email username rules
You can get creative with your username, but there are some necessary restrictions.
- usernames must be at least 3 characters long
- usernames must begin with a letter — not a number or symbol
- you cannot use these characters: / \ & ‘ “ ? | , +
Example of an acceptable email username: jane.doe@shaw.ca
If your username isn’t available, you’ll be asked to choose a different one.
