We have downtime schedules set up for our kids... it works great for the most part. However, we find that they can all still access YouTube during downtime periods. Doesn’t matter the device. I don’t know if this is a wider problem where they might be able to access some other websites as well but for now all I can see is that while they can’t access online gaming and other sites they have tried, they still have full access to YouTube content. This is also the case if I happen to manually pause any device outside of downtimes. Any suggestions?

@witzel Hmm, do you know if they are using the Youtube app, or is it through a web browser to access Youtube? If the timers are active, it should be blocking all traffic. You could remove and re-add the scheduler to see if that helps re-enable the function.

It’s through the YouTube website. I’ve deleted the schedule and added again and still the same. I’ve also forgotten the devices that are more of a problem and that hasn’t solved it either when I add them back in.

It’s frustrating because the pause and schedule function was one of the main reasons we got bluecurve and of it doesn’t work on every website it’s kind of pointless.

@ladywolf69169 -- My son ... is grounded off the wifi and he is still getting on.  his device does [not] show up on BlueCurve but it does when you check your wifi changes.

He probably has done a Google-search, and found information on how to defeat some of the more-common "blocking" settings.

How are you "blocking" him?

If you change the WiFi password, every day, does that stop him?

You need to set the administrative-password for the BlueCurve to some value that he does not know, so that he cannot logon to the BlueCurve, and "unblock" himself, or to change the WiFi password.

Some computers can be set to change their MAC-address. So, if you tell the BlueCurve to block one MAC-address, a different MAC-address unblocks him.

Some computers send their "computer-name" to the BlueCurve, when requesting an IP-address. If you block that name, and he changes that name, the new name is not blocked.

Can you just turn-off the WiFi (or the cable-modem itself) except when you want to use it?
