@donstephenson -- by default, the BlueCurve is configured to request just ONE IP-address from Shaw's DHCP-server.
Ask Shaw to provision a SECOND IP-address for your Shaw account. There is no additional charge for it.
Then, power-off your BlueCurve, by disconnecting the power-cord. Wait a few seconds, and reconnect the power.
Now, the BlueCurve will request one IP-address for itself, and your own equipment (computer or router) can request the additional IP-address.
At this point, namely after consuming both allowable IP-addresses, if you switch to any different equipment of yours, you must power-off/power-on the router, to obtain a different, but still "second" IP-address.
