Is anyone using Nestcams on their XB7 modems? How is it working? Do you often get disconnects?
My XB7 keeps dropping my Nestcam. Nestcam keeps saying bandwidth is poor. The Nestcam is only 10 feet from XB7.
I added a pod. When the Nestcam connects to the pod, the Nestcam works great. However, it keeps reconnecting to the XB7 which provides very poor connection.
@tc10 -- when your Nestcams connect to the XB7, do they connect to the 2.4 Ghz band, or to the 2 Ghz band?
Have you assigned different SSID values for those two bands?
When your Netscams connect to the pod, do they connect to the 2.4 Ghz band, or to the 2 Ghz band?
How far apart is the XB7 from the pod? Any signal-absorbing walls in the way?
The Nestcam connects to 2.4GHz band fr the pod and for the XB7.. 5Ghz is not support for Nest cams in Canada.
There are 2 exterior walls between the XB7 and the Pod. The pod has much better connectivity to the Nestcam.
The Xb7 seems to keep dropping the Nestcams. I have 3 other Nestcams that are not connected directly to the Nestcam on 2.4Ghz that wro great and do not drop like the one that keeps dropping on the XB7.
XB7 keeps dropping Nest Cam 1 connected to 2.4 GHz of XB7. When XB7 transfers the Nest Cam 1 to the nearby Pod, it works perfectly often for days.
it seems that others on ComCast using XB7 are experiencing same issue
Cam 1 on XB7 - light grey is offline with mesage bandwidth is low -- Nest cam is 10 ft from XB7
Cam 2 on Netgear Orbi - no light grey - online with no issues.
So far Shaw tech support has told me working as designed??
