Learn how to order a title through Shaw On Demand. Shaw On Demand (VOD) is your portal to access thousands of movie titles, sports features and TV programs. You’ll need Shaw Television programming in either Digital or HDTV programming to access our title selections that let you watch as often as you like until your order expires. Order using your Shaw remote
- Press the ON DEMAND button on your Shaw Remote
- Use the UP/DOWN
buttons to navigate through the main categories (e.g. Movies, TV) - Press OK to expand a Category and view the associated sub-categories or titles
- Press the UP/DOWN
buttons to navigate through the titles and or use the PAGE UP/DOWN buttons to skip through more titles within a Category - Press OK when you find a title you would like to order
- Select the picture quality you would like to view your title in (Standard Definition or HD, whenever available)
- Select YES to order the title and the title should begin playback shortly.
Order using the Shaw On Demand website
- Visit vod.shaw.ca and select Sign In
- Sign in using your Shaw ID
- Move your mouse over top of any movie graphic to view a brief synopsis of the title.
- Select More Details to view detailed information (e.g. directors, cast, duration, rating)
- or select Order Now for ordering information
- Titles with an HD version available will display an option to order in Standard Definition or HD. Select the version you would like to watch.
- Select Complete Order
Viewing your order
- Turn on your TV and Digital Box
- Press the ON DEMAND button on your Shaw Remote
- Press the DOWN arrow to navigate to My Orders
- Press OK
- The title you ordered should appear in the list. Press OK to begin watching your title
Order subscription VOD using your Shaw remote
Accessing and ordering subscription-based content will vary depending on the equipment you are using in the home. Use the table below to determine the appropriate steps for the equipment in your home.

ROVI / Classic Guide
- Press the Shaw On Demand button on your remote
- Use the Up/Down directional arrows to select Subscription and press OK/Select
- Use the Up/Down directional arrows to select from your Subscription choices and press OK/Select
- Use the Up/Down directional arrows to select Movies or TV Series and press OK/Select
- Select the title you want to watch and press OK
- It will prompt to confirm the rental. HD Titles will be marked with HD beside them. Select SD or HD and press OK/Select.
HD Guide
- Press the On Demand button on your remote
- Choose Subscriptions
- Use the Left/Right arrows to cycle through available subscription choices
- Press OK on your remote for the subscription service you want to choose from
- Use the Left/Right arrows to cycle through choices such as Recently Added / Movies / TV Series
- Press OK for your remote for your choice
- Use the arrows to cycle through choices and press OK on the title you wish to watch
- Choose from SD or HD or add to wishlist
- Press OK on the selected choice to watch now or add to the wishlist for later
Gateway Guide
- Press the VOD Button on your remote, and then OK to launch Shaw On Demand
- Use the Right directional arrow to navigate to the TV or Subscription section
- Press the Down directional arrow to navigate through the different networks and content options.
- Press OK when you have found a title
- Use the Up/Down directional arrows to choose Play HD or Play SD or add to wishlist
- Press OK on the selected choice to watch now or add to the wishlist for later
