If you encounter Error 012 on BlueCurve TV, it was likely caused by an activation issue.

On-Screen Message

"Device activation has failed due to error:012. Please contact Shaw at 1.888.472.2222 for assistance"

Cause
This error occurs when the activation has not started on your Shaw account yet.

Troubleshooting

If you see 012 error on screen: 

  1. Download My Shaw app (Apple App Store | Google Play Store).
  2. Sign-in with your Shaw ID and password.
  3. When prompted, tap Activate.

If you still see the 012 error, power cycle the TV Player by removing the power cable from the outlet, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in. If this does not clear the error, you can contact us by visiting shaw.ca/chat or by using the My Shaw app.
