Programming your Shaw Champion remote
There are two different ways to program your Shaw Champion remote control. You can program the remote to control all of the devices in your home theatre with one easy-to-use remote control.
Method 1:
To program your Champion Remote control, you will first need to turn on the television. Once powered on, proceed with the following directions:
- Press and hold SETUP until mode key blinks twice
- Press the mode key for the device you wish to setup. The mode key will stay lit.
- Press and hold the OK key
- Keep holding down the key until the device turns off
Method 2:
To program your Champion Remote control, you will first need to turn on the device you would like to program with the remote (for example your television, audio system Blu-Ray or DVD player). Once powered on, proceed with the following directions:
- Press and hold SETUP until mode key blinks twice
- Press the mode key for the device you wish to setup. The mode key will stay lit
- Find your device and brand from the chart below and note the DIGIT key assigned to your brand. Press and hold down the DIGIT key for your device/brand
- Let go of the key when your device turns off

Setting the Volume control
If you want the remote control to adjust volume with a stereo system instead of the television, proceed with the following directions:
- Press and hold SETUP until mode key blinks twice
- Press the volume + key
- Press the mode key that corresponds to the device you want to use for volume controls
Troubleshooting Tips
Follow these steps to replace your coaxial cable going into your digital box.
Mode key does not blink when a key is pressed.
The batteries may be dead. Try replacing both AA batteries.
Mode key blinks, but the remote does not control my equipment.
Press the correct mode key and point the remote at the equipment you need to control.
I tried all of the codes for my brand of device and none of them work.
