@dougandsandy wow CBC also! Maybe this is something different than the dispute, and it really is just some sort of back end issue that they are having a really hard time fixing ( I know pipe-dream). Lets not panic yet and give them a few more days and I'm sure we will hear more news if all those channels are no longer available away from residence.
@dougandsandy Open the app, go to Live TV, look at the top left corner for Filters, click it and then click Clear Filters. All of your channels should show up.
Filters cleared, problem persists.
I spoke with Technical support today, as I too am missing (from my phone and computer) all the local networks on Xfinity by Shaw streaming app (formerly Ignite Tv) since Jan 1, 2025. They confirmed to me that the missing channels (networks) have been removed from the live streaming app. I was shocked that this has been done, as these are our basic Canadian networks (Bell and Corus). One should be able to watch their local television stations on the streaming app. Not a good move by anyone and not impressed. I hope enough people complain, as this should not be acceptable.
No longer available is: CBC, CTV / CTV2, or GLOBAL (only CityTv is avail.)
@dougandsandy wrote we also have another Shaw account for a rental property on Vancouver Island.
Does that account have the "time-shift" add-on? It costs $7 (plus taxes) per month, and grants access to many "regional" channels further east, e.g., Calgary, Toronto, Maritimes, and USA stations (e.g., CBS/WXYZ).
Same problem! These three channels are the only reason I have cable. Don't tell me anything about apps, I have a landline and a laptop, no mobile. With these three gone, Shaw on demand is also gone, as there are no networks to demand from. I have no way of watching a live newscast anymore (at a time like this!) Meanwhile I'm now stuck in a 2 -yr contract which does not match what I signed up for. I think it's time for some complaining. So far, talking to Shaw I get bounced to Rogers, at Rogers they tell me to contact Shaw. Next, CRTC? Consumer affairs slots on the said channels? I think I'll give this a rest over the weekend and try some complaining on Monday.
@MarthaJab Don’t you have a cable box to watch the channels?
No, I've never needed one before this. Just watched on my laptop. Used to sign in to the former Freerange, then it was Blue Curve, then i think it was was Fire something, now it's xFinity. It was all fine until now. So ok, they can change whatever, but I shouldn't have to pay if what I signed up for isn't there anymore. 🙄
@MarthaJab If you are watching in home on your laptop and on your Rogers account, you should be seeing those channels. The channels are only not available when you are out of home and not connected to your internet.
