My recordings and on demand movies just quit and return to the menu

This has only been happening this week but noticed that any recorded videos or on demand movies including those from Crave will stop playing after about 2 minutes then go to a black screen before booting me back to live tv. This is also experienced when playing movies on Netflix and Prime. I’ve done a speed test and I’m averaging 800 mbps and have done a soft reset of the modem and hard reset. No change. Still get the black screen after about two minutes of playing any recorded video then it goes back to live tv. Is anyone else experiencing this?

@JohnHillier -- if you have any older PVR, it has an internal disk-drive to store your recordings, and to enable you to "skip backward" & "pause", but only when the disk-drive has NOT failed.   Contact Shaw/Rogers -- they will replace your PVR, probably with the latest BlueCurve box, that records to the "cloud". Of course, all your recordings cannot be migrated. Sigh.

@JohnHillier Are your recordings ok if you try viewing them using the Ignite app? Also, do you have the wireless or  wired Ignite boxes?

@JohnHillier -- since the Rogers/Shaw merger in April 2023, did Rogers take away your older PVR (with an internal disk-drive) and give you the new BlueCurve box (that records to the "cloud") ?  If you still have the older PVR, it's probably the internal disk-drive that is the problem. If you have the BlueCurve, playing anything from the cloud (either via the Ignite App, or onto your TV) should not stall/quit on you, under the assumption that the BlueCurve itself is not faulty.

Contact Shaw/Rogers [www.shaw.ca/chat or 1-888-472-2222] to get professional trouble-shooting, and maybe a replacement of the PVR (or the BlueCurve).
