No audio with ignite entertainment box

Hi there, 

I recently purchased a brand new Samsung TV and a new Ignite Entertainment XiOne  from Shaw. There is picture on the TV but no audio. I’ve tried all the system diagnostics and had a Shaw rep come to the house to fix it which he couldn’t. 

Is anyone aware if we need to change Shaw ignite entertainment systems or if this is a common problem with Samsung and Shaw?

Judging by the lack of similar questions on this forum, I would say "no".

Is the HDMI cable from the XiOne connected to "HDMI #1" on your TV?

Does the TV have an OSD (On Screen Display) that you can use to increase the volume emitted by the TV?

Do you still have your previous TV?  If you connect it, do you get sound on it?

Are you using a sound-bar connected to "audio-out" on your TV? Is your TV configured to bypass the internal speakers, and activate that "audio-out" ?

Do you have a stand-alone DVD/BluRay player that you can connect to your TV? Do you get audio & video when playing some content?

Do you have a computer (desktop or notebook) that has HDMI-output, that you can connect to your TV, to transmit audio & video from your computer into the TV?
