Some families have people watching at all times, like us. We’re on different schedules and the tv is on most of the time. There is no good time to set it up so it doesn’t interfere. This is a Shaw forum, but does Shaw ever leave a post to say why they have a hard on to do updates every day. Is your system so **bleep**ty this is necessary? Get off your Beep Shaw and answer some questions. I won’t even entertain calling in to find out because it takes up to hours to get through, guess that because the service is so good, everyone is calling in to pat them on the back. Plus, when you get through, they have flunkies in some other part of the world that barely know anything about anything. A question about why the system NEEDS to update EVERY DAY may bring on an aneurism. Another beef is I have so many freaking channels just so I can have a spattering of channels we watch. 95% of the channels never ever get watched but if you want what you want, you have to subscribe to a bunch of CRAP you don’t want that’s BUNDLED in. What a scam that is, the FCC should make such practices illegal. You want one channel but you have to pay for five channels you want nothing to do with to get the one you want. Guess that’s how you continuously get record profits. We watch under a dozen channels yet have to pay for 125 channels and then there a load of music channels that have never been used in as long as we’ve had it. My son keeps telling me to get rid of it all and just stream from a couple of services. I’m thinking he’s right since my tv bill alone is over $100

What a joke that doesn’t leave you laughing!

Oh, I love how they automatically throw beeps in there because they know people are so upset about their service that there’s going to be cuss words possibly, but really? Get off your A S s gets beeped, someone is a touchy Mormon.

@Mike1459 ,  lol, your blowing smoke on here, this is only a peer to peer discussion forum for general users to try and help each other with tech problems.. This forum is not a direct path to Shaw Support and you would be very lucky to get a response from a Shaw Moderator especially with your wonderful disposition, by the way the bleeping is done by a computer program not a Shaw employee.  Oh well at least you had a place to vent, hope you got it out of your system.

Shaw offers Limited TV for $25/month. If your "dozen" channels are not in that offering, you can pay to add individual channels, to reduce your monthly bill for TV.

> FCC

Are you referring to an authority inside the USA: https://www.fcc.gov/document/canada

or Canada's FCC: Farm Credit Corporation ?

Is your son suggesting no-cost streaming via: https://pluto.tv ?

@Lyle64 -- the only thing that may stop you from switching is Shaw's $20/month penalty if you cancel your current two-year Value Plan. The fee is $20/month for each of the remaining months on that plan's contract. As a "new" customer of Telus, you may get promotional rates for the first 12 months.

This setting does NOTHING !!!  I have it set from 6:00-8:00AM.  This was done long ago. The update occurs around 3:00AM regularly.  Shaw needs to FIX THIS !!!

@J_A_K -- note that 3 AM Pacific is 6 AM Eastern time.  So, could it be a "timezone" issue?
