Removal of Paramount Network and BET

This notice appeared on my Shaw Invoice.

Starting August 31, 2023, Paramount Network and BET will no longer be available as part of your TV package. If you currently subscribe to these channels as a pick and pay option, we will remove them as of this date and they will no longer appear on your bill. No further action is required by you. If you subscribe to these channels as part of a Pick Pack and would like to replace them, please contact our customer service agents at shaw.ca/Chat or 1-888-472-2222. The rest of your TV package will remain the same. This change is made in accordance with the CRTC Television Service Provider Code. If you have any questions or no longer wish to subscribe to your TV service, please reach out to us at 1-888-472-2222.

@Zeph  Looks like Rogers didn’t have a negotiated deal with those channels, so they needed to drop them.

@mdk  That Rogers info is “stale” because Rogers doesn’t carry BET as of Oct.2022. Would be nice if add-on channels were only $2.82.

Paramount was annoying. Good movies but 15 minute commercials promoting their own shows during a movie made me tune out many times
