Separated recordings with Ignite?

We are a household of 3 adults - two of us upstairs have Motorola PVRs, the third downstairs has a Gateway and portal. There is one Shaw bill for this set up, but all 3 of us have our own TV players that are separated (500GB each) storage.

We are looking to upgrade, but I am not clear on whether we can keep our recordings separated with the Wireless or Wired boxes. So, for example, could we each get a 4K player with our own storage, or would those 3 players be connected to each other?

Is there a way to keep things separated without splitting into two Shaw accounts?

@csams -- it is my understanding that your current PVRs (Motorola & Gateway) have internal disk-drives, to store the recordings, while all newer hardware (BlueCurve & TV players) does not have internal disk-drives, because all the content is stored to Shaw's "cloud". This allows any recorded program to be viewed on all of your future devices.   So, not "separated" in the slightest.

Also, note that any "upgrade" to new hardware will not "migrate" your currently-stored content.

The "first generation" of the Shaw Gateway required a Portal device, while the later generation has an integrated player.

Finally, I do not know if your quota on the Shaw Cloud is 3 times 500 GB, or just 1 times 1000 GB.
