Seasonal Disconnection (Temporary change in service)


Going on holidays? There is no need to cancel your Shaw services. You can suspend your Shaw services and temporarily disconnect and reconnect your service at no charge, provided that you give us instructions to reconnect on a date that is within 180 days from the date on which you request the disconnection. 


Seasonal Disconnection

In order to be eligible for a seasonal disconnection you will need to meet all of the following criteria:

  • Shaw account must be in good standing
  • Minimum disconnection time: 30 days
  • Maximum disconnection time: 180 days
  • Equipment rental fees may apply for the duration of the account suspension

Shaw Email and Voicemail

If you would like to keep your Shaw Email and Voicemail services active while your account has been disconnected temporarily there will be a small monthly fee for the duration of the disconnect. Please contact a Shaw representative for more details.

2-year ValuePlans

If you are currently signed up for a 2-year ValuePlan, it will only be possible to suspend Home Phone service during a Seasonal Disconnect. This is due to the terms of the Service Agreement which require TV and Internet to be kept active for is duration.

Promotions and Grandfathered Plans

Please be aware that any promotional discounts or grandfathered service plans will be expired if your account is put on hold for a Seasonal Disconnection.
