Found out today from technical support that Rogers has blocked Shaw Direct customers from watching subscribed channels like Bravo and HGTV on CityTV+. I called because I logged into the app with my Shaw credentials, and even though I subscribe to the channels, they were showing unsubscribed in the app. The tech support told me it’s because they don’t have the broadcast rights. Doesn’t rogers own both Shaw and City+? This is insane, and clearly a matter of gouging customers, not rights or ownership of streaming. I was told to use the Xfinity app, which I reminded the so called tech support guy does not exist on Apple TV. I’m not going to tear down my walls to run satellite cables to every room in the house. Between losing CBC, CTV and Global on streaming, now specialty channels too? Please tell me there is a plan in the works to fix this ?
