Are you on a Two Year Value Plan contract, or are you paying the month-by-month rate?
From your monthly invoice, what are you paying, and what promotional discounts (if any) are you getting?
If you are on a month-by-month plan, and if Telus Optik is available in your neighbourhood, switch, to get two-year or three-year "promotional" rates, available to all new subscribers to Telus. In the past, Telus has offered up to $200 as a "buy-out" fee, to pay Shaw's cancellation-fee, if you cancel your Value Plan. Ask Telus if that offer is still available.
Are you in a low-income family? Telus and Shaw have special prices for Internet for such qualifying families. Not the fastest Internet, but 75 Mbps is OK.
Do you watch only a few TV channels? Shaw has a $25/month plan, for a very-limited group of channels.
