@RD999 -- If I only have speeds of 500 would it matter which Port I use for which device?
No. All the ports are capable of 1000 Mbps.
Your computer would need to have a high-end network-adapter, to send/receive at any speed above 1000 Mbps.
To me, the only advantages of having "Shaw Gig 1.5", over "Shaw Gig 1.0" would be:
- fast "WiFi 6" speeds to a modern WiFi device -- up to 1.2 Gbps,
- having multiple, simultaneous, computers that each want to receive at 1000 Mbps. The cable-modem would receive at 1.5, and send packets at 1.0 to each computer.
