I know all of that, and what the settings should be (unless Shaw changed something and have not updated their instruction pages to match). I have not changed any of my server settings (ports, hosts...) for years, and they worked fine up until the last few days. Now I am seeing that IMAP occasionally works, but frequently times out. SMTP seems to work fine (as I said before) as outgoing messages succeed.
I could consider phoning/chatting with Shaw, but don't have hours to wait on hold. Not a big enough deal - I just set my Shaw mail to send a copy of any incoming mail to a service that works so I don't miss something, and will worry about it another day.
