@pvandenbosch --  I am getting quota warnings

WIthin Shaw WebMail, move the mouse-point over the name of a folder (along the left edge of the window) and "hover" there. After a few seconds, you will see a pop-up, stating something like "123 messages occupying 456 Megabytes". Move the mouse-pointer to a different label, and "hover" again. You'll be able to see which folder is the largest contributor to your "quota".

access your "Sent Items" folder, and click the column-heading labelled "Size" to order the items -- either "largest" first or "smallest" first. Can you delete any of the "large" messages (usually due to having a large attachment).  Or, what you can do is open one of those messages, and click to permanently remove the attachment, and then close the message. The message will be resaved, but with the (large) attachment no longer attached.

Then, still in Shaw WebMail, open the "Deleted Items" folder, and permanently delete messages, to free-up some space within your "quota".

Does the above actions give you much more room within your "quota"? (The bottom line of the WebMail client will say something like "456 out of 1000" being used.)

There is an option within some POP-enabled E-mail programs to "leave messages on server for NN days". When you "POP" your messages, all of them will be downloaded to your computer. Your "older" E-mail messages will be removed from Shaw's mail-server, making them non-accessible to any IMAP clients that you use, but those "newer" messages will still be available via IMAP.

Note that Microsoft Outlook, as an E-mail client, can create "Local Storage" folders -- folders that exist only on your computer. Within Outlook, you can drag-and-drop messages from any IMAP'd folder into one of those "Local Storage" folders, thus removing them from your "quota". This is useful, if you have signed-up for promotional messages from AirMiles or BestBuy or PetroCanada or Walmart. Such messages can be "moved" from your Shaw "inbox" into one of those "Local Storage" folders on your computer.
