P.S. I doubt that the takeover of Shaw by Rogers (almost 2 years ago) changed anything in their "physical plant" -- no change in the wire from your home to the nearest telephone-pole, nor in their "backbone" network (from that pole to their nearest Central Office).
"If it ain't broke, you're not trying hard enough" -- meaning that there probably was an administrative order by Rogers to their technical department not to make any changes to the Shaw infrastructure, immediately after the take-over, and for several months, until they fully learned about their technical end of the systems they acquired.
