When you get a new lease, what is the TTL ("time to live") value?
Is your router configured to be within your time-zone? If not, the software in your router will not correctly calculate the 50%-level of the TTL, at which time, it should automatically send a "DHCP-renew" request. If the DHCP-renew requests are not sent before the TTL expires, you will lose connectivity.
