Hello shaw fiber is ali a lie... i have shaw internet in my house im paying for 750mbps Fiber optic??? I have coaxial cable in my house, Telus cannot put fiber here for some uknown Reason . but shaw say there is fiber in our area so why telus cannot come here i think is politics.
@rtotem1 -- Shaw advertises their network as "fiber-plus". Telus advertises the availability of FTTH (fiber to the home) for their customers wanting to exceed 75 Mbps service (the maximum over twisted-pair copper lines).
I have read that some Shaw customers in Calgary can get FTTH.
I'm not going to abide by the 2-years rule
You signed a contract for those two years. The contract allows you to cancel at any time, but with a penalty for each of the months remaining on the contract. If you have Shaw Internet & Shaw TV, the penalty is $20/month. If you only have one Shaw service, the penalty is $15/month.
Earlier this month, a Telus salesperson came to the front door of my home, to offer to pay that penalty, by giving me credit on future Telus invoices, if I switched my Shaw TV/Phone/Internet to their similar services. So, if you want "FTTH, switch to Telus.
Finally, consider the capacity of coaxial-cable -- 200+ TV channels & 40+ music-only channels & Internet up to 2.5 Gbit/second, for that "last mile" from Shaw's fiber-optic "backbone" network into your home. Is that a "bottleneck" on your Internet usage?
hello Grasshopper, I am reading your post and want to ask u? When u asked shaw to shut off bridge mode on your shaw blue curve modem did they shut off bridge mode , and did it make any dfference ?n i find using shaws blue curve moden that when im watching my iptv serves i pay for tv i get buffering and the iptv server says it shaw your isp sever thottleing my internet.
