@rickatk I'm not familiar with Adaptive MESH, please elaborate.

@IslandCragos Shaw uses Plume brand wifi pods to achieve MESH. Here is the skinny on Adaptive Mesh, which is a variant on MESH systems. I and very happy with my A-MESH setup.

I don't know how much “adaptive mesh” is marketing spin but here is the skinny:

@IslandCragos -- the closest (in this case is less than a foot away) has the worst wi-fi connection

The WiFi "cloud" produced by any WiFi device, e.g., your Shaw router, is "donut-shaped", perpendicular to the antenna(s).

Can you try rotating your WiFi device, in 3 dimensions, to see if the two "donuts" can overlap more completely ?

I will do you're research for you. 🙂

Shaw's "Fibre+ Gig 1.5" can deliver that speed to your cable-modem.

But, the cable-modem's Ethernet ports can only deliver 1.0 Gbps to a device.

Also, most computers have a 10/100/1000 Ethernet adapter, not an (expensive) multi-Gbps adapter.

But, with a wireless device using "AC" or "AX" protocol, it can send/receive at more than 1.0 Gbps.

QED

P.S. Read more details on the Shaw SpeedTest web-site, to see the correct way to measure your Internet speed, if you are subscribed to the "Fibre+ 1.5 Gig" service.
