Yes, if there is a amp, the signal is weak and likely the cause of the problem. Like mdk said, the drop is the likely culprit. Talk to the technician about the reason for the amp; is the drop damaged, is it a long drop with the wrong cable type, is it buried?

If the signal coming to your house is good and the drop is ok, you could have internal wiring issues. There could be internal splits out poor wiring. The goal of the service tech should be to get the amp out.

Do what I did before I got rid of Shaw. I argued with them for months because they charged me for a 'free trial' on some of their services. That went on for three months and I decided to switch providers. I FINALLY got a credit MORE than I was arguing about.

I wrote the CEO of Shaw in Calgary. Not email, a REAL letter.

They responded within three days of receiving it.
