@g-idk @michaelstein Yup, I am subscribed and it works. I don’t think Rogers is going to have it as a free preview.
It is a nationwide free preview according to this press release: (Meaning all providers)
@michaelstein “through participating service providers across the country”
Doesn't make sense.
@michaelstein , @rstra , It's looking like the USA network is now included in certain tv packages but is not available in Free Preview and that is why you are not receiving it. I'm guessing because of the fight that happened between Bell and Rogers over the broadcast rights of all those channels that just changed, Rogers has declined to offer it on Free Preview, I could be way wrong but there must be a reason. And rstra you are right, it does say in the small print (gets you every time) that only participating providers will carry the free preview.
@g-idk Yes, I have USA on my popular tv package. You are probably correct about Rogers refusing to carry the free preview. USA is the old Discovery channel renamed, and their was a lot of fighting between Bell and Rogers over the rights.
I'm very angry about our cable "package" undergoing some major changes. As mentioned by others, they removed the two STARZ channels we had, which were the only channels that offered "on demand" viewing of commercial free movies. Now I have to pay MORE to have them, while in the meantime, they keep increasing the price of our current package, despite removing good channels. Typical of these large companies, there appears to be absolutely NO concern for their customers. I wonder what they will delete next, and then kindly "offer" it up for additional fees? Thanks for the Christmas present Rogers/Shaw - much appreciated.
So Shaw has shaved down pretty much all of the channels that were worth watching.
Since I've signed up, I've lost (that I remember, I know there was more) Speed, Discovery, Paramount, and now this year so far that I've found Starz x 2, Food, HGTV.
I'm lucky to still have Sports Channel and TSN.
This is not what I signed up for, they've reneged on their part of the contract. (But somewhere in the fine print I'm sure it says they can change, add, or remove channels at will.) So as far as I'm concerned I'm paying for (in addition to standard broadcast networks like CTV, CBC, CITI, NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox) a bunch of channels with mostly old repeat programs. I know all they want me to do is pick up all these cancelled channels on other add on premium packages. And they are probably all in different packages.
I guess its time to cancel and go on streaming service.
