I keep this in mind when I have an option for a different server. Forced compliance is not popular.
I have found that once I enter the two step verification in a web browser, I am never asked again, I assume that the my iPad and iPhone got added to a trusted device list.
@shaw-petty While I can use two step verification when logging in through a web browser, it is the iOS app that doesn’t work for me. When I finish entering the code, the number boxes go blank, and I can’t get in to the app. I did a video screen shot if you want to see what I mean.
After reading the responses here regarding two-step verification, I can only assume the problem lies solely with Rogers. I won't list everything I have noticed online and on TV that Rogers has its sticky fingers all over. They are trying to cut corners everywhere to help pay for their takeover of Shaw. I have had many slowdowns and dropouts with my internet browsing, and the TV volume is anything but stable. Whatever happened to the promised same volume on all channels? It worked fine until Rogers came along!
@gtbell , Totally understand that you are frustrated and the right of your opinion, but I have no such issues that you mention about internet dropping, tv volume being different, and zero problem with 2 step verification as long as you don't remove Rogers/Shaw cookies from the browser that you are using, and if they are removed a new code is sent to you immediately the next time you try to log in. In todays world there should be 2 step verification on almost any business that you have an account with, unless of course you want your accounts to be hacked. I'm not sure it is Rogers/Shaw fault for trying to keep your account secure and safe. But like you, this is my personal opinion. If you are having all these issues with your internet and tv, have you contacted Rogers/Shaw to do any troubleshooting, because I see on here that the last time you posted was 3 years ago and you haven't mentioned anything till now. Hopefully you can get your issues worked out and have a good experience.
As for my not appearing (posting) here for three years, I have used email, chat and phone instead. Frustration all round but only for roughly the past year. I can only surmise that it had something to do with the takeover.
This is the answer we get. I do not like 2 step verification. I have never liked the place i am purchasing services from forcing their policies on me. I had 5 phones with Rogers, the forced anti spam policy on texting that "we would remove for 5$ per phone per month" Had me move to Bell for my phones. I have run a web/email hosting company since 1998, so I am fully aware of the risks of not using 2 step verification. The lame duck answer; "unless of course you want your accounts to be hacked." Doesn't cut it. Your arrogance in answering the other person question shows the attitude that is Rogers. Instead of answering, you attack the poster. As rogers keeps forcing these policies on people, they will move to other services. If Telus wasn't such a horrible company I am sure many would have already.Yes, these other companies my have a 2 step verification, but then these won't be your customers anymore.
The CRTC will eventually get around to forcing companies to do what they say they will. Maybe you forget that these people are CUSTOMERS. Customer service should not be something large companies shun.
@v3_Adam , What are you going on about? I was not arrogant in my response to the other poster, you need to read it again. I am not a Rogers/Shaw employee or have I ever been, this forum is just Customers like myself , there is no Rogers/Shaw involvement on this forum. I also fully explained that this was my personal opinion not some companies. And I wasn't even talking to you or about you. Great if the CRTC gets off there asses and fixes so many wrong things, but that has nothing to do with me. If you don't like a certain companies policy then by all means try a different one. I like to wish you a nice day but
